Product Description

Bitumen Penetration Grade *5/**0 is a standard penetration grad. It usually used for road construction and for the production of asphalt pavements with superior properties.


Characteristic :

Paving Grades - road surfacing, and some industrial applications.

Hard Grades - paints and enamels etc.

Oxidised/Blown Grades - roofing, waterproofing, electrical products, and many others.

Cutback Bitumens - spraying and some mixing applications.

Bitumen Emulsions - used largely in road surfacing applications.

Polymer Modified Binders (PMBs) - there are diffrent types and they can be used for many of the applications mentioned above. 


Description :

Bitumen sutable for road construction and for the production of asphelt pavements with superior properties. Penetration Grade Bitumen' s are specified by the penetration and softening point test. Designation is by peneetration range only. The penetration grade bitumen's have a thermoplastic property which causes the material to soften at high temperatures and to harden at lower tempratures. This uniue temperature / visscosity relationship is important when determining the performance parameters such as the adhesion, theology, durability and application temperatures of bitumen.


Other Applications :

Bitumens are also used in flooring materials ( mastic asphalt ), to back carpet tiles, as joint sealants, in pipe coating ( both land and marine ), in automotive applications, as adhesives and for numerous other applications.
